17 . The House granted leave to Shri. K. Sankaranarayanan to move the following motion on 4th January 1989.

"ശ്രീ. ഇ.കെ. നായനാരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള മന്ത്രിസഭയില്‍ ഈ സഭ അവിശ്വാസം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു."

The motion was discussed on 4th and 5th January 1989. When the motion was put to vote 57 Members voted for it and 79 Members voted against it. The motion was declared as lost.
